6 Michigan State University students involved in riot are suspended

Michigan State University has suspended six students following their participation in last weekend's riot near the campus in East Lansing. The riot erupted early Sunday morning at the Cedar Village apartment complex, home to many MSU students. About 4,000 people were at the Cedar Fest bash. Police issued arrested 52 people--28 of them MSU students.

EARLIER: Police in riot gear arrested more than 52 people and used tear gas to break up a crowd of 4,000 revelers who gathered near Michigan State University in East Lansing over the weekend for a party organized on the Internet. The wild party -- 2008 Cedar Fest at the privately owned Cedar Village near campus -- ended in heavy drinking, thrown beer bottles, four fires and arrests for everything from disorderly conduct to felony counts of inciting a riot.
