National (Calif.) district won't seek unification

National (Calif.) Superintendent Dennis Doyle said the district does not plan to pursue unification, which would bring all kindergarten-through-12th-grade schools in National City under one agency. A report concludes that running middle and high schools isn't realistic for the elementary school district because it can't afford to take on the debt that would come with taking over four large schools, A middle school, a junior high school, a high school and an adult school within the city are part of the Sweetwater Union High School District.
