New elementary under construction in Shepherd, Mich.

Facility will put all students under one roof
From The Mount Pleasant Morning Sun: Shepherd (Mich.) Public Schools has broken ground for major renovations at Shepherd Main Elementary School. All of the elementary students will be integrated into a single building. Seventeen new classrooms will be added to the Main building, along with new windows, new lighting, improved heating and cooling, and a better electrical system. Portable classrooms will be removed, the 1963 Maple Building will be demolished, classes will be moved out of the Laidley Building, and a new computer lab, art room, cafeteria, office and lobby will be built. The architect is TowerPinkster.
