Agreement reached on insurance payments to schools for Hurricane Katrina damage

From The New Orleans Times-Picayune: The Orleans Parish (La.) School Board and the state-run Recovery School District have agreed to split $24 million in the insurance proceeds stemming from Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. Previously, the agencies agreed to split $36 million in storm damage insurance. The money will help pay for projects outlined in the city's master plan for school construction and renovation.
