New school in the works for St. John the Baptist(La.) Parish district

New facility would be the district's first in more than a decade.

The St. John the Baptist Parish (La.) district is building its first new public school in more than a decade. The 68,000-square-foot school will be built to house about 800 students in grades K to 8. In addition to the building itself, the campus will have a 6,000-square-foot covered play area. The school is expected to open in 2008. The architect is Darby Architects.
