New York City moves to close 4 low-performing schools

Dec. 3, 2009
Since 2002, 91 city schools have been closed in reform efforts

From The New York Times: The New York City Department of Education will move to close four poor-performing schools, the first of several such announcements expected over the coming weeks. Closing the four schools would add to the 91 other schools that have been shut since 2002 as part of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s effort to overhaul the city’s school system.
