Murdoch contract with New York City schools is rejected

From The New York Daily News: New York State Controller Thomas DiNapoli has rejected the New York City school system's contract with a company affiliated with media magnate Rupert Murdoch. Wireless Generation was to receive $27 million of the state's $700 million in "Race to the Top" funds to develop software to track student test scores. Murdoch's British tabloid "News of the World" was shut down last month amid a phone hacking and police bribery scandal.
