The New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA) and Department of Education have allocated funds for 137 repair projects at 114 schools. The state will spend about $60 million from a reserve created in April 2007 to pay for projects at schools with pressing health, safety and other problems. State and school district officials initially conducted on-site visits and examined 400 potential health and safety problems that the districts had submitted for review.
