Mississippi administrator will run early childhood center in New Orleans

The head of a Mississippi school district will lead a proposed early childhood and family learning center in New Orleans that could become part of a network of centers across the city. Pat Cooper, superintendent of the McComb School District for the past decade, will run the Early Childhood and Family Learning Center, which is scheduled to open in January 2008 when renovation of the shuttered Mahalia Jackson School is expected to be complete.
