Noose incident brings charges against two Texas students

Pearland High School juniors are caught hanging a noose in school parking lot.

Two Pearland (Texas) High School students have been charged with disorderly conduct and will spend a month in an alternative school program after a security guard caught them hanging a noose in the high school parking lot. Rope nooses have become increasingly common signs of racial hatred since an incident in Jena, La., last year in which nooses were hung from a tree at a high school. The Pearland district says it has a zero-tolerance policy for any racial or disruptive symbols being placed on campus.
