North Carolina community college decides to create its own police force

Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh plans a 14-officer department

From The Raleigh News & Observer: Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh N.C., says it will establish a campus police department in July. College president Stephen Scott says two recent campus lockdowns related to gun scares “heightened our awareness” and played a role in deciding to create the new force. Plans call for a gradual expansion to 14 sworn officers.
