North Carolina high school gets expansion

24 classrooms added to East Carteret High campus

When East Carteret High School in Beaufort, N.C., resumes classes after winter break, it will welcome students and staff to a new 24-classroom editionThe new classroom includes six science classrooms, seven English classrooms, seven math classrooms, a computer lab, a business classroom and foreign language rooms. The building also includes a new administrative area and, outside the front doors, the existing parking area will be reconfigured. The new addition to the school is one of the projects under the total $50 million school bond approved by Carteret County voters in 2005.
