Tax error costs North Olmstead (Ohio) district $310,000

From The Cleveland Plain Dealer: A Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Auditor's office error has cost North Olmsted city schools $310,000 in property taxes over the past two years. Residents in 62 houses in the Bretton Ridge subdivision in North Olmsted have been paying their taxes to nearby Olmsted Falls school district. An employee in the auditor's office mistakenly placed the subdivision in the Olmsted Falls school district in 2008. The error was corrected in June after a Bretton Ridge resident complained to the city.
