Norwalk (Iowa) district seeks bond funds

$8.4 million would help pay for elementary school expansion and renovation.

The Norwalk (Iowa) Community School District is asking voters on Feb. 5 to approve an $8.4 million bond issue. The money would help pay for a $12 million expansion of Lakewood Elementary School. The project would add 16 classrooms, a lunchroom, a satellite kitchen, a 600-seat gymnasium, and extra music, technology and art rooms. It also would upgrade electrical systems, heating, air conditioning, carpet, paint, ceilings and windows.
