City of Melbourne wants the school district to do something about the shuttered facility.

Officials in Melbourne, Fla., are urging the Brevard County school district to do something with a boarded-up, blighted building in the Eau Gallie community. The long-abandoned Eau Gallie High School languishes atop prime real estate overlooking the Indian River. Coated in peeling beige paint, the windows and doors of the deteriorating structure are shuttered by weather-beaten plywood sheets.
