Ohio districts tinkering with school starting times

From The Columbus Dispatch: Several central Ohio districts are tinkering with the school day to address a number of issues: budget cuts, academic performance and students' need for rest. The efforts are getting mixed reviews. At Groveport Madison, high-school students are fighting a possible switch of elementary and high-school schedules. The six elementaries would run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., while Groveport Madison High School would begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3:40 p.m. Meanwhile, some Dublin students are excited that all of the district's schools will start later this fall. Classes will begin 35 minutes later for high-schoolers.
