Officials say city's plan to remove dam could affect conditions on campus
Ohio State University wants to make sure that removing a dam in Columbus doesn't harm the millions of dollars the school has invested in its stadium and other buildings and roads, or jeopardize its plan to expand its medical complex. Removing the 5th Avenue dam will lower the level of the Olentangy River, speed up its flow and expose 2 miles of riverbank. The city of Columbus plans to hire an engineering company to assess the impact. Ohio State officials want to see what the study shows and then discuss whether it makes sense for the school to help pay for the removal. To read The Columbus Dispatch article, click here.
