No lights for Oak Park, Ill., high school stadium

The Oak Park, Ill., Zoning Board has decided not to grant a variance to that would have allowed Oak Park and River Forest High School to install lights at its stadium. The 3-3 vote essentially kills the proposal, officials say.  People who live near the stadium worried that nighttime activities would disrupt the neighborhood. School officials say a lighted stadium could have been used for practices as well as for night football and soccer games and other sporting events.
