Palm Beach district foresees more enrollment decline

Palm Beach County (Fla.) educators are projecting a third straight year with fewer students, but plenty of new school construction projects still are in progress or coming soon. A recent school district forecast calls for a drop of 1,176 students in the fall, because of fewer high school freshmen countywide. The district's total K-12 enrollment projection of 168,278 students is nearly 5,000 below its record high in 2005 — the end of 35 years of growth.
