Advocating green schools

Palm Beach County (Fla.) School District officials say it costs more to go green, but big benefits are coming for local schools built with environmentally helpful features. Officials have provided a clearer outline of the potential expenses and savings for building green campuses.

FROM FEBRUARY 2008: The Palm Beach County (Fla.) School Board has agreed to seek special green standards for three construction projects scheduled for the next two years. The district's first campus with environmentally friendly design is scheduled to open in August.
