Texas district says public won't be allowed on spruced-up running tracks

From The Austin American-Statesman: After spending $20,000 last year to fix vandalism and misuse at their three high school track facilities, Pflugerville (Texas) school district officials announced that the tracks would be closed to the public. District facilities officials said the tracks and fields have been littered with dog feces and damaged by bikes and skateboards. Signs and banners also have been stolen and vandalized.
