Campus would have replaced Lansdale Catholic High

From The Philadelphia Inquirer: The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia has dropped plans to build a new campus in Hilltown, Pa., for Lansdale Catholic High School. The 68-acre site will be sold. Officials blamed the change of plans on the archdiocese's poor finances. Earlier this year, the archdiocese said it had a $17.5 million operating debt.

January 2008 from The Philadelphia Inquirer: The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has unveiled a plan to construct two $65 million high schools in the city's suburbs. The campuses, in fast-growing parts of Bucks and Montgomery counties, will replace three older schools. Enrollment at the archdiocese's 20 high schools has been declining for years, and officials hope the new schools will help reverse that trend.
