North Carolina community college bans smoking

Sep 3, 2009 1:37 PM

From The Charlotte Observer: Central Piedmont Community College has decided to ban smoking on its six North Carolina campuses. The school is joining a growing number of campuses in the state banning or restricting tobacco use. Starting Jan. 2, all forms of tobacco will be banned on CPCC's campuses, including outdoor areas. It's been a tough year for smokers in a state where tobacco once ruled. A ban on smoking in bars and restaurants that passed earlier this year also takes effect Jan. 2.
