From The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: The Pittsburgh school district is holding public hearings on its proposal to close seven schools. Superintendent Linda Lane says doing so would save the cash-strapped district about $8 million annually. The administration wants to close Northview PreK-8, Fort Pitt PreK-5, Schaeffer intermediate and primary campuses, Stevens K-8 and Murray K-8 in Mt. Oliver. Langley High would become a K-8 school, and Oliver High would house special education students and offices.
