St. Mary's elementary was destroyed in deadly 2011 tornado

From The Joplin Globe: Nineteen months after a tornado destroyed St. Mary's Catholic School in Joplin, Mo., diocesan officials have unveiled plans to rebuild the elementary in a new location. The elementary school, as well as St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the rectory, parish center and the St. Vincent de Paul building, were destroyed on May 22, 2011, when a deadly storm devastated the city. Most of that site has been sold, and the parish will be rebuilt at a 47-acre tract about four miles away. The school will include preschool through fifth-grade classrooms and will have room to expand.
