From The Dallas Morning News: The Plano (Texas) school board has named Richard Matkin its lone finalist for superintendent. Matkin, an associate superintendent for business services, has served as the district's interim chief since Feb. 1. He is expected to be formally hired after a 21-day state-mandated waiting period. He will replace Doug Otto, who stepped down at the end of January after a 17-year tenure.
