Plaquemines Parish picks permanent site for consolidated high school

District combined three high schools after devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The Plaquemines Parish (La.) School Board has decided to renovate the old Buras High School site as the permanent home of its new consolidated South Plaquemines High School. Following Hurricane Katrina, three high schools were consolidated as South Plaquemines High, situated in temporary buildings on the former Port Sulphur High School campus. For a permanent school, the board chose the Buras High site from three alternatives.
