Jefferson County, Ala., ready to build new high school

The Jefferson County (Ala.) school district is building a new high school in Pleasant Grove. The $43.5 million Pleasant Grove High School will be a two-story 250,000-square-foot building. In addition to classrooms and labs, it will have an auditorium, media center, practice gymnasium, competition gymnasium,band room and a family consumer science room. The architect is Lathan Associates Architects, and the contractor is McGrory Building Co.
