Portage (Mich.) district tries again on bonds

The Portage (Mich.) district is asking voters in November to approve a $119.5 million bond proposal. The money would enable the district to remodel and add on to two high schools, and build two elementary schools. Voters rejected a $145 million proposal in February; the new proposal has dropped athletic facility upgrades that were included in the prior bond proposal.
