Voters will decide on Sept. 18.

Voters in the Portales (N.M.) district will decide on Sept. 18 whether to approve a $9.5 million bond proposal to help pay for a new elementary school. If voters authorize sale of the bonds, the state of New Mexico will contribute $11.8 million to the cost of the elementary school project. The bonds also would provide funds for classroom renovations at other schools.
