New facility at Pratt Institute could boost New York City neighborhood

From The New York Times: On a major New York City thoroughfare once known as “Murder Avenue,” Pratt Institute has made a sizable investment with the opening of Myrtle Hall, a 120,000-square-foot, $54 million six-story building that houses administrative offices, galleries and classrooms. The building has attracted attention for its sleek design and its environmentally friendly features. But over time it may prove to be most notable for its effect on the neighborhood. The architect is WASA/Studio A.
