A principal who fed her gambling addiction by stealing more than $350,000 from St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School in north Minneapolis has been sentenced to three years in prison. Joyce A. Klevence, 68, who left the school 18 months ago, was convicted of stealing from the school, which has 93 students in kindergarten to eighth grade. Restitution will be determined at a later date. Judge John Holahan Jr. countered said the theft was "particularly egregious" because its victims were countless schoolchildren. He gave Klevence more time than recommended by state guidelines.
