From The Providence Journal: Providence, R.I., Mayor Angel Taveras says he has cut five administrative jobs in the School Department, for a savings of almost $500,000. Among those whose jobs were eliminated were the district’s chief communications officer, the director of school facilities and the facilitator of district reform. The district also will not fill the vacant chief financial officer’s position.
