Poorly performing Brooklyn school will be shut down

New York City will shut down a K-12 school in Brooklyn for poor performance. Public School 27 won't ever graduate a class from its high school, which was opened two years ago when the school was expanded. The failing high school was considered so bad that students will have to transfer to graduate. Nearly 75 percent of all PS 27 students do not meet the standards for reading, and nearly 67 percent aren't on grade level in math.
