Recovery from Hurricane Katrina, transfers from private schools are cited as reasons
FromThe Baton Rouge Advocate: Public school enrollment is up in Lousiana, but there is disagreement on why it is happening. But others say the enrollment surge has occurred because of students returning to New Orleans area schools quicker than expected as part of the resettlement since Hurricane Katrina.
