LaPlace Elementary will welcome 1,100 students after winter break

From The New Orleans Times-Picayune: Workers are putting finishing touches on new construction at LaPlace Elementary School in the St. John the Baptist (La.) Parish district. The 1,100 students have been attending classes in portable buildings during construction, which includes a two-story 55,000-square-foot main facility featuring a new media center, classrooms with smart boards, art and music rooms, and cafeteria The architect is Holly & Smith Architects and the contractor is Mapp Construction.
