District will hire about 630 new teachers, compared with 2,700 just a few years ago

From The Las Vegas Sun: During the heady growth years just a few years ago, more than 2,700 new teachers would be welcomed into the ranks of the Clark County (Nev.) School District each summer. This year, the district expects to hire 630 new teachers by the start of the school year, Aug. 24 — about a third of the number hired a year ago.
