Relocation of canal precedes Texas school construction

San Felipe Del Rio (Texas) Consolidated Independent School District plans for new elementary.

The San Felipe Del Rio (Texas) Consolidated Independent School District is planning to build a new Garfield Elementary campus. The 880-student school is expected to cost about $13.1 million. The relocation of the Madre Canal, which sits under the site of the new school, has begun, and construction on the campus itself is scheduled to begin around Sept. 1. The architect is Ferrell, Brown and Associates.
