Residence hall opens at University of Hawaii

First new student housing facility in 30 years

TheUniversity of Hawaii at Manoa has dedicated its first new residence hall on campus in 30 years. The 810-bed Frear Hall features air conditioning, flat-screen televisions in the recreation room and storage for surfboards. The addition of Frear will also enable UH-Manoa to shut down one of the four Hale Aloha tower residence halls for renovations. A second tower will be shut down in the spring.
