Residents of downtown neighborhoods in Boston want more classroom space

March 23, 2009
They don't like having their children bused to distant schools

From The Boston Globe: Scores of families scattered throughout the North End, Beacon Hill, and the West End neighborhoods in Boston are having to decide between leaving the city, seeing their children go to public schools well outside their neighborhoods, or sending them to a private school. They say there aren't enough classroom space for the growing number of families who want to remain in those neighborhoods. Parents have formed the Coalition for Public Education: Expanding Quality Education for Downtown Neighborhoods.
