Restoration set to begin on buildings at University of Southern Mississippi's campus in Long Beach

From The Biloxi Sun-Herald: The University of Southern Mississippi has held a groundbreaking ceremony for restoration of two buildings on the campus in Long Beach. Hardy Hall and Lloyd Hall were heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina; the work on Hardy Hall will cost $8.7 million, and the restoration of Lloyd Hall will cost $2.3 million. FEMA and insurance money will pay for the construction. The upgrades are to be completed by next fall.

JULY 2011..from The Biloxi Sun-Herald: Six years after Hurricane Katrina caused significant damage to the University of Southern Mississippi-Gulf Coast,the school has five major building projects in the works on the school's Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. A $9.4 million science facility is under construction; an $8.7 million renovation is planned for Hardy Hall, which will house administrative offices, a bookstore and a coffee shop; Elizabeth Hall will undergo a $2 million conversion to a home for Arts and Letters programs; a $2.2 million renovation will upgrade Lloyd Hall, a classroom facility; and a recreational center will be converted to a health sciences building.
