Revised budget figures give California districts cause for optimism

Projections provide a rosier view of revenue for coming year

From The Sacramento Bee: School leaders in Californiaare cautiously optimistic about Gov. Jerry Brown's revised state budget, which has rosier revenue projections for the coming year. Budget experts say the new spending plan gives schools a cushion against cuts – even if Brown fails in his effort to extend 2009 increases to income taxes.
