Guidance counselor who wrote graphic book sues school district to challenge his dismissal

From The Chicago Tribune: A guidance counselor and former girls basketball coach who was fired from Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, Ill., after writing a sexually graphic book about relationships has sued the school system for $1 million, contending his free speech rights were violated. The Rich Township High School District 227 board cited the book, "It's Her Fault," when it voted to fire Bryan Craig on Sept. 18. In his lawsuit, Craig argues that his dismissal violated his First Amendment rights. He contends that publication of the book was not part of his official duties and should not have been used to fire him.
