First new school in 60 years for California district

The Riverbank (Calif.) Unified School District has broken ground for a $16 million, 600-student elementary school. Officials say it will be the district's first new school building in 60 years. Voters approved a bond proposal in 2005 to pay for the construction. The architect is Darden & Associates.
