May 30, 2012
Crew has led districts in New York City, Miami

From The Portland Oregonian: Rudy Crew, who has led school sysems in New York City, Miami, Sacramento and Tacoma, is Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber's choice to become the state's first "chief education officer." That position would give Crew power over the state's public universities, public schools, community colleges and early childhood programs. If a state panel awards him the job as expected, his assignment will be to help reshape the education sectors into a more innovative, effective and seamless system.
