Poor reception on existing system persuades board to acquire $400,000 upgrade

From The San Antonio Express-News: The San Antonio (Texas) school board has approved the purchase of a new, $400,617 radio system for the district's police department. The approval came after officials demonstrated the failures of the existing system, which has poor reception outside and no reception in many district buildings. The existing system also has no way to communicate with other agencies, leaving officers to resort to cellphones to call the San Antonio Police Department.
