San Diego City Attorney Michael Aguirre has criticized the San Diego Community College District for what he described as a “tepid response” to allegations that taxpayer bond money was misused. The college district chancellor, Constance Carroll, has asked prosecutors to investigate a 2006 property deal in which two well-connected developers made a half-million dollars in nine months by selling a downtown duplex to the district. Aguirre believes more should be done.
