San Ysidro district commits to solar power

TheSan Ysidro (Calif.) School District has signed a solar energy deal expected to provide most of its power and save it hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in utility bills. If projections prove correct, San Ysidro will save $10.5 million from the 25-year deal with Chula Vista-based Manzana Energy.
