The stigma of free school lunch

For students in many school districts across the nation, the stigma of accepting a free or subsidized lunch, while others are paying for food from a different menu, often results in their skipping a meal. Many districts have a dual system: one line for government-subsidized meals (also available to students who pay) and another line for mostly snacks and fast-food for students with cash. Some districts have been confronting the problem with mixed results.
