Schools table plans for finger scanning in lunch lines

Plans to speed up cafeteria lunch lines by using fingerprint scanners at two Seminole County, Fla., schools have been temporarily shelved after some parents complained that the machines intrude on their children's privacy and make them vulnerable to identity theft. Officials say they jumped the gun by starting the scanning program without notifying parents or giving them a choice whether to have their children participate.
